Suspects sought in sexual assault of teen in Ridgewood [With Video]

RIDGEWOOD — Police were searching for two men wanted in a sexual assault of an 18-year-old woman near Seneca and Putnam avenues in Ridgewood, the 104th Precinct said.

The precinct said a sexual assault occurred at the Ridgewood corner around 2:50 a.m. Wednesday.

The woman had been walking when she was approached from behind by one of the men, who allegedly punched her in the head while the second man allegedly choked her and covered her mouth with his hand, the NYPD said.

The second suspect allegedly attempted to grab the victim’s purse but the teen was able to hold onto it, according to cops.

The first attacker then allegedly began to sexually assault the woman, but both men were scared off when a passer-by approached, police said.

The victim was taken to Woodhull Hospital, where she was treated and released, the NYPD said.

Police said witnesses heard two male suspects, who were described as intoxicated, speaking Spanish, the precinct said.

Both are in their 30s and about 5-foot-5, according to police.

The 104th Precinct said the first suspect has brown eyes, dark hair that was worn in a short ponytail and a medium complexion. He was wearing dark shorts and a blue and white or gray stripped shirt, according to cops.

Police said the second suspect also has brown eyes, dark hair and a medium complexion. He was wearing a light blue shirt and dark shorts, according to police.
