Twirling to Success

Trina Catterson of Glendale was recently one of the nation’s 14 top Junior Women baton twirlers that competed in the U.S. Trials for a spot on Team USA. She qualified for Team USA with two no drop performances and will represent the U.S. at the World Baton Twirling Championships in Nottingham, England in August. Being one of the top four finishers, she will compete for a position at the U.S. National Baton Twirling Championships in Stockton, Calif. in July. The top three finishers will then compete in the World Championships. Trina Catterson is an honor roll student at Anthony J. Pranzo School in Glendale. In September she will be a freshman at Forest Hills High School. She is coached by Alaine Robbins from Smithtown, L.I. This will be Trina’s second time to the World Championships.
