Queens Borough President Melinda Katz attended the volunteer appreciation barbeque held by Tomchei Shabbos of Queens (TSQ) in Kew Gardens on Wednesday, Aug. 6. For more than 30 years, TSQ volunteers have provided food packages on a weekly basis to needy families throughout Queens. The borough president presented a proclamation recognizing TSQ’s contributions to the community during Wednesday’s barbecue. Joining Katz at the event were, left to right, Rabbi Daniel Pollack, Pesach Osina, City Council Member Rory Lancman, Assemblyman Michael Simanowitz, Aron Katz and Shimmy Pelman.
