Assemblyman Phil Goldfeder, with his family and staff, joined hundreds of residents to celebrate Labor Day weekend and entered his homemade “steamroller” float in the competition. The float, which included a sign declaring “when DOT won’t pave … Goldfeder will,” won second place in the most original category in Monday’s Broad Channel Mardi Gras Parade and took home the trophy for first place overall in Sunday’s Hamilton Beach Baby Parade.
