City Councilman Rory Lancman (D-Hillcrest) was chosen by Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito (D-Manhattan) to serve as chairman of the Council’s newly created Committee on Courts and Legal Services.
Mark-Viverito announced the appointment at the Sept. 10 stated meeting, when the formation of the new committee was also officially announced.
Lancman said he was excited at the opportunity to lead the new committee, which will be tasked with helping provide free or legal representation to city residents.
