Atv, Car Collide In Maspeth Hit-&-run

A woman was injured in a hit-and-run accident on a Maspeth street early last Saturday morning, Oct. 18, according to police. The crash reportedly occurred at about 1:40 a.m. in the vicinity of 57th Road and 58th Place. Law enforcement sources said the victim was driving her car southbound on 58th Place when it was struck by a blue Yamaha ATV operated by an unidentified man. The impact reportedly caused the man to be thrown off his ride and the woman’s vehicle to veer to the side and smash into a parked vehicle. Though he suffered a head laceration, authorities stated, the man managed to flee the scene on foot southbound on 58th Place, then eastbound on 58th Avenue. Officers from the 104th Precinct and multiple Fire Department units responded to the scene. The female driver was hospitalized with injuries not considered life-threatening; the male was not located.
