Split Decision for Bwg U8s; Girls Stay Perfect

Academy Royals Pull Off A Nail-Biter

The Blau Weiss Gottschee (BWG), U8 teams competed last weekend in matches and split, with the white winning last Saturday, Sept. 27, against Eleftheria Pancyprian Athenians 5-2, and the blue team losing in a close a close game to FC Select 5-4.

Steven Dimotheris, Peter Gianone, Luca Giannola and Alex Kedzierski all scored in the white victory.

The BWG 05 blue girls team continued their undefeated streak with a 5-0 shutout victory over NY Stars Premier Polaris on Sunday, Sept. 28. Stefanie Stimpfl led the team to the win with three goals. Isabella Hunter kept a clean sheet in goal following her debut in net last week.

The BWG 04 boys blue team continued their winning ways with an 11-2 win over NY stars Nebula. The scorers were Joseph Giannola (3), Liam Molloy (2), Damien John (3), Ambroggio Musso, Kory Alvarez and Dylan Gunning with one apiece.

In Cosmopolitan Junior Soccer League action last weekend, BWG 2004 white defeated F.C. Select Green 2-1in a close match. On Sunday, Gottschee lost their lead in the last 15 minutes of a hard fought match against the Manhattan Kickers 04 that ended with in a score of 6-3.

The U10 Royals won against Vera Soccer Academy at St. Michael’s park. In a hard fought game, goals for the Blau Weiss Gottschee were scored by Shane Lee, Brian Simpson and Ryan Wiseman.

In their third New York Club Soccer League match, Blau Weiss Gottschee 00 blue defeated Boca Juniors by a 4-1 score. Goals were scored by Marko Mladenovic (2), Samuel Mariano-Conceicao and Mark Dakov. The BWG 00 Blue team remains undefeated in their division.

In U.S. Soccer Development Academy action last weekend, BWG U14 took on World Class and won 3-0 with a solid performance. U16 and U18 had the tough challenge of taking on MLS side Montreal Impact. They split the games, with U18 losing 2-0 and U16 winning 3-1.
