Guests of all ages enjoyed spooky fun at various Halloween parties and parades held around the Times Newsweekly’s coverage area last Friday, Oct. 31. In Photos 1 and 2, ghosts and goblins took to Myrtle Avenue in Glendale for the community’s annual Halloween parade, sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Glendale. The event included a costume contest at the Stop and Shop supermarket parking lot off Cypress Hills Street, during which new Glendale Kiwanis President Ken Voisin and others awarded prizes to the winners. Jackson Heights residents celebrated Halloween in style by participating in the community’s annual march last Friday, as shown in Photo 3. The Jackson Heights Beautification Group sponsored the festivities. A haunted house provided a delightful scare to two- and four-legged guests alike during Antelyes Animal Hospital’s annual Halloween party in Middle Village (Photo 4). Finally, spooks ran wild during the annual Maspeth Ragamuffin Parade along Grand Avenue last Friday night (Photos 5 and 6). Hundreds of participants received treat bags from members of the Maspeth Lions Club, which sponsored the celebration.
