By Bill Parry

The NYPD has made an arrest in the borough’s first murder of 2015. Flushing resident Shyron Kearse, 34, was busted in the shooting death of Troy Grant at the Pomonok Houses, according to police. He faces murder and weapons charges.

Police from the 107th Precinct responded to a 911 call around 2:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 2, at 155-11 71st Ave., in Flushing, and discovered Grant, 30, with a gunshot wound to the head. EMS pronounced the victim DOA at the scene, officials said.

Grant was a resident of Parsons Boulevard in Jamaica. There was only one recorded homicide in the 107th Precinct last year, according to CompStat.
