Police are looking for a suspect they say entered a Kew Gardens Hills home earlier this month and struck a 48-year-old man in the head before fleeing the scene.

On Saturday, Oct. 10, at about 7:42 p.m. the suspect— identified as Fresh Meadows resident James McGarvie— entered a home in the vicinity of 73rd Avenue and 150th Street and confronted the male victim in the living room, according to authorities.

McGarvie then struck the victim with a metal object on his head, causing a laceration, and then fled to an unknown location without any property, police said.

The victim was taken to New York Presbyterian Queens for the injury and was later released. No other injuries were reported.

McGarvie is described as standing 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 220 pounds, with brown eyes, light skin, short hair, and was last seen wearing white sneakers, a white tank-top and black jeans.
