The anticipation is over.

Flattopps, an anxiously awaited restaurant from the owners of Queens Comfort, recently opened its doors at 33-06 Ditmars Blvd.

Perhaps the biggest difference between these two establishments is that Flattopps will serve liquor. Queens Comfort, which serves unique twists on American comfort food on 30th Avenue, is BYOB.

Menus posted in the window show that cocktails include the Spanish Harlem swizzle, which has white rum, blended rum, lime, mint and absinthe, as well as the Love Rollercoaster, which has gin, lavender and honey. Flattopps will also serve slush drinks, local beers on tap including Big Alice Brewing’s Queensbridge IPA, and cans and bottles.

Burgers range from the Schnook, which has fried pepperoni stuffed mozzarella and pink sauce, to the Gucci Mane, which has raspberry jam, Cap’n Crunch crusted bacon, gruyere and French Toast brioche, to the Butter Pecan Rican, which has onion rings, cheddar, BBQ sauce, bacon and buttermilk ranch.

The restaurant also offers chicken sandwiches, such as the Murda Burger, which is a chicken patty with bleu cheese, granny smith apples and maple Tabasco drizzle. It will serve vegetarian dishes such as the maple miso Brussels sprout and brown rice burger.

Appetizers include toasted ravioli, apricot short rib sliders and chicken fried rice balls.

Flattopps has arcade games in the back, as well as an old fashioned jukebox.

The restaurant is currently in soft-open mode. During this period, the restaurant will be open from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., although a sign in the window indicates that the hours are flexible. It is closed Monday.

We Heart Astoria previously reported on the soft opening.

The owners could not be reached for comment.
