Astoria residents are teaming up to add to their Pokémon Go collection.

A Pokémon Go bar crawl is planned for July 17 starting at Sweet Afton located at 30-09 34th St. at 1 p.m. According to the Meetup event, the organizer will set up a lure, which is used to attract Pokémon to certain PokeStops.

The crawl will continue at Judy and Punch at 34-08 30th Ave., Dominies at 34-07 30th Ave. and Diamond Dogs at 34-04 31st Ave.

Astoria and Long Island City residents have also started an Astoria/Long Island City Pokémon Go Facebook group to “put together group walks, take on a gym, drop a lure at a Pokéstop at a set time,” according to a post by Danny Garcia on the page. There are currently 172 members.

Users have been trading tips and giving each other suggestions about where to catch the creatures. Gantry Plaza State Park and Astoria Park seem to be popular places for finding Pokémon, and members have even been scheduling times to meet up to catch them.

Gamers can also join team-specific groups like Team Valor, Team Instinct and Team Mystic.
