Police are searching for the driver of a vehicle involved in a hit and run that put a motorcycle rider in hospital last month.
On August 19 around 4:30 p.m. a 21 year old man was riding east on 37th Avenue on his motorcycle when the SUV in front of him attempted to make a U-turn. The motor bike rider collided into the vehicle as it began making the turn. The rider was thrown from his motorcycle in front of 85-21 37th Avenue, and the driver fled west.
The victim suffered a fractured right hand and was transported to Elmhurst General Hospital, where he was reported to be in serious but stable condition.
The suspect’s vehicle is described as a red Cadillac SRS SUV, and the operator was a white or Hispanic male between 20 and 30 years old with black hair.
Police have released a photo and video of the car, and anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
