No cash? No problem — just give me the phones!
That’s what an armed robber told a employee last month when he held up a cellphone store on the Ridgewood/Bushwick border, and police are still looking for the culprit.
Police released earlier this week video footage and pictures of the suspect who held up the Kevin Wireless store located at 1492 Myrtle Ave., about a block west of the Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues subway station, at 1:34 p.m. on Dec. 26, 2016.
According to law enforcement sources, the bandit — described as a Hispanic male in his 30s wearing a black-and-gray knit cap, a black hooded coat, blue jeans and white sneakers while carrying a black backpack — approached a 16-year-old male employee, displayed a handgun and demanded cash.
When the worker told the robber there was no cash available in the store, police said, the crook then demanded cellphones. The employee provided the suspect with four phones, and the perpetrator took off on foot westbound along Myrtle Avenue.
Officers from the 83rd Precinct responded to the scene; no injuries were reported.
