Man attacked and robbed near Junction Blvd, NYPD says

Police are searching for a man who allegedly attacked and robbed a pedestrian in Jackson Heights several weeks ago.

The 49-year-old victim was walking near Junction Boulevard and 34th Road around 3:30 a.m. on Monday March 6 when he was attacked from behind, police said.

The suspect put the man in a chokehold until he passed out and then stole the victim’s wallet, watch and jewelry before fleeing the scene.

The victim suffered a laceration to the back of the head, but refused medical attention at the scene.

The suspect is described as a 25 to 30-year-old Hispanic man, about 5-foot-9 with a medium build. He was last seen wearing sweatpants, a blue jacket and white sneakers.

Police have released a photo and video of the suspect, and anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
