Man attacked on mezzanine of Roosevelt Ave.-Jackson Heights station, NYPD says

Police are searching for a man who allegedly beat up and hospitalized a passenger on the mezzanine of the Roosevelt Avenue-Jackson Heights E train station earlier this month.

According to the report, the suspect approached the 35-year-old male victim on the mezzanine around 4 p.m. on March 9.

Following an earlier dispute, the suspect attacked the victim from behind with his fists and then fled the scene, leaving the victim with a swollen lip and fractured ankle.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for care.

The suspect is described as a black man around 5-foot-8 and 170 pounds, and was last seen wearing a dark colored jacket with a dark hoodie underneath, glasses, and a black Du-rag. He was also carrying a large black backpack.

Police have released a photo of the suspect and anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
