Spring is in full swing at LIC Flea & Food, and this Earth Day weekend, you can check out some of the market’s greener vendors.

One such vendor is Paulie’s Patch, which offers beautiful air plants. Giul of Paulie’s Patch says, “Having plants in the home and workplace is not only beneficial to your health but it also creates a beautiful and tranquil environment. Airplants and succulents don’t require much maintenance and are easily cared for by new plant owners. There are so many different ways to display these plants because of their versatility.”

You can also visit Nature’s Vegan Mom to find some all-natural skin care products. Her line includes body butter, lip butter, lip scrubs and gloss, hand and body lotion, healing cream and much more.

As always, the LIC Flea vendors offer one-of-a-kind products you can’t find anywhere else, such as Eljaiek Art, which believes art should not be a luxury. The artist, Patty Eljaiek was born into a family of artists in Columbia, S.C. Jewelry is just one way of expressing her creative impulses, as are original art and photography. Art , she believes, is everywhere!

The LIC Flea vendors are amazing people selling amazing things to each and every customer. One vendor, Ramble Monde, explained the power of their business.

“We believe the world is an amazing place that is meant to be explored for unique items, beautiful experiences and inspiring conversations,” Ramble Monde said. “Our tribe of Ramblers share those moments through pictures, travel blogs and collections of locally sourced products from all over the globe. Each item is specifically curated to replicate the vibe and spirit of each location. We strive to connect the consumer’s desire to buy ‘meaningful experiences’ over ‘commodity items’ by inviting them to participate in our travels and meet the makers.”

Everyone’s invited not only to browse the vendor booths but also talk with the men and women behind them and learn about their passion for what they do, and why they love sharing it with the LIC Flea community.

The LIC Flea market is open each Saturday and Sunday through October from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. It’s located at 5-25 46th Ave., at the corner of Fifth Street and 46th Avenue, in Long Island City — a short walk from the Court Square subway station and the East River Ferry.
