Target

Target, the second largest discount store in the country, is coming to Jackson Heights.
The store is set to open at the beginning of 2018, and will be part of an 80,000 square foot building that is replacing the old movie theater at 40-31 82nd Street.
The retailer signed a 15-year lease and will take more than 20,000 square feet of space on the ground floor of the building known as the Shoppes at 82nd Street. The greater development comes with retail, offices and underground parking.
The cinema, which was built in 1924, closed three years ago after the operator was unable to pay the rent.
The theater was then bought in September 2016 by Sun Equity Partners and the Heskel Group for $27 million.
Target currently has stores in other Queens neighborhoods such as Forest Hills, Elmhurst and College Point.
