Victim slashed by meat cleaver in St. Albans home invasion: Cops

Police were searching for three male suspects in connection with a robbery that occurred April 23, within the 113th Precinct in St. Albans.

Police said the suspects confronted two middle-aged men, one 59 and the other 62, at 1:20 p.m. inside their home on 116th Street near Farmers Boulevard.

While trying to flee the scene, the 59-year-old male was assaulted by the suspects, receiving slash wounds to his face and hands from a meat cleaver, according to the authorities. The 62-year-old victim was able to escape the location, which prompted the suspects to flee the scene, police said.

Police described one suspect as African-American between 30 and 40 years old, weighing approximately 150-160 pounds. He was wearing a T-shirt and jeans. A second suspect is a white or Hispanic male wearing a white or gray T-shirt, approximately 5 feet, 10 inches tall with salt and pepper hair, according to police.

The third suspect is an African-American male approximately 5-foot-8, between 30 and 40 years old, wearing black sunglasses and a black leather baseball hat, police said.
