Police recovered a loaded firearm from two teens who were among a group who robbed and assaulted three 15-year-old boys in South Ozone Park.
According to police, on Thursday, June 1 at 3:15 p.m., the three victims were walking home from school in the vicinity of 109th Street and 109th Avenue when they were approached by a group of males, who then proceeded to punch and kick the boys to the ground.
During the incident, a firearm was displayed and the suspects took the victims’ cellphones.
Officers from the 106th Precinct responded to calls about the robbery and conducted a search for the suspects. At 3:50 p.m., authorities said, they found two teenagers, ages 15 and 17 whose identities have not been released, at the corner of 109th Avenue and 108th Street.
Police said they were allegedly found in possession of a loaded firearm and one of the victim’s cellphones. Both teens were arrested and charged with robbery and criminal possession of a weapon.
