LIC Flea & Food, home to the best in global eats, unique vendors with handcrafted, vintage and curated items and the LIC Flea Beer Garden serving up local craft beers, will host the first Queens BBQ Smokedown & Brew Festival this Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 16-17.
Admission to the market is free, but if you want to explore local craft beer, then grab a ticket for unlimited tastings of different brews while enjoying amazing barbecue from pitmasters in the tri-state area.
BBQ dishes will be available from Butcher Bar, Miss Holly’s Smokehouse & Top Gun BBQ, among other amazing vendors.
Butcher Bar is Astoria’s first organic, natural and local butcher shop. Their belief in old traditional methods and their exclusive use of high quality, pasture-raised, hormone- and antibiotic-free meat guarantees quality and taste.
At Missy Holly’s, it’s all about that smoked beef brisket! She is bringing Southern Smokehouse to the North and everyone who tries it finds themselves eternally grateful.
Top Gun BBQ’s award-winning team will be serving a chopped BBQ pork shoulder and slaw sandwich. They use two cleavers on the chopping block, a sound almost calling people to come try their succulent pork.
Of course, that’s not all that’s happening at LIC Flea this weekend! In addition to the current vendors, the market will be welcoming Marc’s Unique Antiques. Mr. Schafler has a BA from Queens College in history and art history (1977). He started his own auction company in 1989, Sports Auctions of New York, specializing in sports memorabilia.
Since then, Schafler’s focus has been in the area of antiques with a specialty in coordinating tag and estate sales.
