The Queens Night Market will return for its fall season this weekend and feature food and merchandise from dozens of local vendors.
Hosted at Flushing Meadows Corona Park, the market debuted in 2015 and is organized by John Wang. It offers everything from live performances to clothing and jewelery made by local crafters. But the main attraction is the large variety of food vendors serving up eclectic eats.
You can pick up bubble tea, Persian stew, empanadas, perogies, Vietnamese sandwiches, waffles and everything in between. The fall season begins on the grounds of the Hall of Science on Sept. 30 and will end on Oct. 28. From 6 p.m. to midnight, the park will be bustling with people and music performed by local artists.
In addition to the wide variety of bites, the offerings are also extremely affordable. Most food and beverage items will set you back $5.
“The mission of the Night Market has always been to cater to and attract the broadest possible demographic, both in our visitors and vendors,” Wang told QNS in a previous interview. “I think the last two years have shown that affordability and diverse representation are two of the most important factors, and those have been hard-wired into the event ever since it was just an inkling of an idea.”
A suggested $5 will be collected at the gates on Sept. 30 and proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society to fund breast cancer research.
