Cops searching for man who robbed a senior woman and took off with over $4K in valuables in Flushing

Cops are looking for a man who robbed a senior woman who was trying to sell her furniture at knifepoint last week in Flushing.

At 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 11, an unknown individual responded to an ad that the victim, an 85-year old female, placed in the newspaper for furniture for sale located within the vicinity of Maple Avenue and Kissena Boulevard. Once inside the apartment, the suspect put $500 worth of alcohol and $20 worth of tea in a bag.

The suspect demanded the victim’s ring, but the when victim refused, he brandished a knife and demanded the ring again. The victim complied and the thief then fled the location with the ring, which was valued at $4,000, along with the bag of other stolen items, to parts unknown. There were no reported injuries during the incident.

The suspect is described as a 45-year-old Asian man who is balding and has a light complexion, standing 5 feet, 9 inches tall, and weighing 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a striped shirt, blue jeans and black sneakers.
