A man was found hanging from a tree at local park in Jackson Heights this morning, according to police.
The man, described as Asian, was found unconscious and unresponsive at around 7 a.m. at Rory Staunton Field Park at 33-16 79th Street, police said.
The park is located near two schools– I.S. 145 Joseph Pulitzer and the Garden School.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene when EMS arrived at 7:10.
The man’s identity has yet to be released. The medical examiner will determine the cause of death, police said.
