There’s still no word on what caused the deaths of a 93-year-old woman and her 66-year-old son whose bodies were found inside their Rego Park apartment on Sunday morning.
Officers from the 112th Precinct responded to the apartment on 62nd Avenue near 102nd Street at 9:20 a.m. after receiving a wellness check request from a relative through 911.
Upon arriving at the home, authorities said, they found Hsiang Wang, 93, and her son — Samuel Wang, 66 — unconscious and unresponsive inside the residence. There were no obvious signs of trauma.
Paramedics called to the residence pronounced both of them dead. Their bodies were transported to the Medical Examiner’s office for autopsies.
Neighbors told the New York Daily News that the mother and son were inseparable, but both of them had suffered from various illnesses. It’s believed that Hsiang and Samuel Wang had been dead for more than a day before they were discovered.
The investigation is ongoing.
