A lottery ticket bought in Jackson Heights this week is now worth a million dollars.
The New York Lottery announced on March 7 that one of two second-prize winners bought their ticket at Enjoy Convenience Store at 76-15 37th Ave. The odds of winning a million dollars in the Powerball are one in 11,688,053.52, according to the Multi-State Lottery Association.
The winner matched five of five lottery numbers, but missed the sixth “Powerball” number to win the jackpot. The jackpot was valued at $348 million,
The winning numbers were 06-13-19-36-51, plus a Powerball 18.
Powerball players choose five numbers, which range from one to 69, plus an additional Powerball number which runs from one to 26.
Drawings are held every Wednesday and Saturday.
Another player from the town of Seaford in Nassau County also won a million dollars in the drawing. Both players won a fixed amount, which means they will not need to share the prize.
