The police have arrested two men for the fatal shooting of a 31-year-old man inside a Jackson Heights bodega last week.
Fabian Dejesus-Garcia, 28, of Flushing, and Gamaliel Desiderio-Sanchez, 28, from the Bronx, were both arrested this week and face murder and weapons charges.
The men allegedly worked in tandem to shoot Jackson Heights resident Saferino Flores-Pineda, 31, inside a bodega at 81-06 Roosevelt Ave. around 8:15 p.m. on Thursday, March 22.
Desiderio-Sanchez, who was arrested Monday, allegedly handed Dejesus-Garcia a gun while in the store. He then engaged the victim in a conversation while his accomplice approached Flores-Pineda from behind and shot him three, according to the criminal complaint.
Dejesus-Garcia was arrested this morning.
Police found Flores-Pineda unconscious and with gunshot wounds to his chest inside Cinco de Mayo Food Market. He was transported to Elmhurst Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
