Applications are now open for dozens of affordable units at a new development on Hunters Point Avenue in Long Island City.
The housing lottery at 11-39 49th Ave., a 12-story, 194-unit building, features 23 and 26 studio and one bedroom units, respectively, with a few two and three bedroom options.
Studios begin at a monthly rent of $2,098 for single-person households with an income range between $71,932 and $95,030. A single person with an income between $77,178 and $95,030 can also score a one-bedroom unit for $2,251 a month.
One-bedroom units are also available for two-person households for incomes between $77,178 and $108,550.
Two-bedroom units, of which six are available, start at $2,714 a month. To qualify, an annual minimum income of $93,052 is required for at household size of at least two, with a maximum income of $135,590 for 4-person households.
Three-bedroom units, available to household sizes of three to six people, will have a monthly rent of $3,131. To qualify for one of the four units, a minimum income of $107,349 is required.
The new building includes amenities like bike storage, card-operated laundry rooms, a gym, a rooftop, and a lounge, all of which require additional fees to access.
The applications are open to all, with a general preference for those who live in New York City and no special preference for Community Board 2 residents. A small percentage of the units, however, will go to mobility-disabled applications and those with vision or hearing disabilities.
