The Hunters Point Parks Conservancy will be hosting a fundraising event next month celebrating the people and groups that contribute to the Long Island City waterfront.
The event, “Spotlight of the Season,” is the first for the conservancy, and includes a family-friendly night of music, food, dance, and other activities brought by many of the same performers and venues that have provided programs at the park this year.
The event will begin with a “family hour” complete with lawn games, art, and other kids activities. Afterward, there will be a happy hour with food and drinks provided by COFFEED and SingleCut Beersmiths. The event will top off with music, dance, fitness programming, a magic show, and other performances and demonstrations.
In addition, the conservancy will be honoring Dana Aussenberg of the Gantry Parent Association, for her work in bringing free programming for kids to Long Island City. Nestseekers International, the residential and brokerage firm, will also be highlighted for their support toward the conservancy over the last several years.
Tickets to the event, MC’ed by Tony Richardson, a former NFL player, can be purchased at Eventbrite, and start at $50 for adults and go up to $500 for a group package of 10 tickets. Individual tickets for children cost $25.
Those who are unable to attend the event but wish to make a contribution can also donate here.
“Spotlight of the Season” will be held on Sept. 14 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at LIC Landing, located at 52-10 Center Blvd. The rain date for the event is set for Sept. 21. Festive attire is required for the event.
