Come out for an afternoon of free fun in Whitestone this weekend.

On Saturday, Sept. 22, the 109th Police Precinct will be holding their fifth annual Family Fun Day event at Francis Lewis Park, located on Third Avenue between Parsons Boulevard and 147th Street. From noon to 4 p.m., guests are invited to come to the park for free food, games and giveaways.

Officers from the 109th Precinct as well as local civic leaders will be available that day for meet-and-greets. Those interested can learn different ways about how to get civically involved in their communities.

The event will feature several family-friendly activities including pony rides, inflatables, a pumpkin patch and the chance to meet Mr. and Mrs. Met, mascots of the New York Mets baseball team. In past years, thousands of attendees have come out to experience this free day of family fun.

Family Fun Day is a collaboration between the 109th Precinct, the 109th Precinct Community Council and the We Love Whitestone Civic Association.
