Cops were looking for a gun-toting suspect who robbed a man near a window factory in Flushing last Friday afternoon in an incident caught on camera.
Police said the holdup occurred Oct. 26 at 12:05 p.m. in front of the Crystal Windows glass company plant, located at 31-10 Whitestone Expwy.
According to law enforcement sources, a 40-year-old man was in the process of putting his backpack into his car when the unidentified suspect approached him. The crook displayed a black, semi-automatic handgun and demanded the victim’s property, police said.
Authorities said the suspect forcibly removed the victim’s backpack, then fled on foot toward a dark-colored, late-model Buick Encore SUV operated by an unidentified individual.
The perpetrator entered the vehicle, which sped away eastbound along 31st Avenue. The vehicle was last seen entering the Whitestone Expressway.
Officers from the 109th Precinct responded to the incident and said no injuries were reported.
Police described the bandit as an black man of an unknown age who was last seen wearing a black hooded jacket, a black baseball cap, black pants and black sneakers.
