Video shows armed bandit stealing a man’s backpack on an industrial Flushing street

Cops are looking for the gun-toting suspect who robbed a man near a window factory in Flushing on Friday afternoon in an incident caught on camera.

Police said the holdup occurred at 12:05 p.m. on Oct. 26 in front of the Crystal Windows glass company plant at 31-10 Whitestone Expwy.

According to law enforcement sources, a 40-year-old man was in the process of putting his backpack into his car when the unidentified suspect approached him. The crook displayed a black, semi-automatic handgun and demanded the victim’s property.

Authorities said the suspect forcibly removed the victim’s backpack, then fled on foot toward a dark-colored, late-model Buick Encore SUV operated by an unidentified individual. The perpetrator entered the vehicle, which sped away eastbound along 31st Avenue; it was last seen entering the Whitestone Expressway.

Officers from the 109th Precinct responded to the incident; no injuries were reported.

Police described the bandit as an adult black man of an unknown age who was last seen wearing a black hooded jacket, a black baseball cap, black pants and black sneakers.
