Police were investigating the death of a homeless man who was found in a van at an Ozone Park junkyard on Thursday afternoon.

Police responded to a 911 call Dec. 20 at 1:24 p.m. regarding a unconscious man inside of a vehicle at Carmula Cash For Cars, located at 134-34 Cross Bay Blvd.

Upon their arrival, officers found 58-year-old Madhu Seecheran, unconscious and unresponsive, with no obvious signs of trauma, according to authorities.

EMS responded to the location and declared Seecheran dead at the scene, police said.

Law enforcement sources indicated that Seecheran was likely living out of the van where his body was found. The Medical Examiner was working to determine the cause of death.

The investigation was ongoing.
