Man Steals More Than $11K in Jewelry in Middle Village Burglary Pattern: NYPD

Police are searching for a man who stole more than $11,000 in jewelry after striking two Middle Village homes during a single September day.

The first break-in happened at around noon on Sept. 20, when the man forced open the side door of a house near 77th Place and Penelope Avenue.

He then entered the home and stole several pieces of jewelry valued at more than $11,000, police say, before fleeing from the scene.

At some point between 8 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. that same day, additionally, the man approached a house near 77th Street and Juniper Boulevard South and also attempted to force the front door open.

His break-in attempt here, however, was unsuccessful.

The suspect is described as Hispanic, approximately 40-years-old, with a light complexion and a slim build. He was last seen wearing a dark Yankees baseball hat, a black jacket, blue jeans and black boots.
