A new barber shop will be opening in the neighborhood this weekend.
Andy’s Styles, the name of the new shop, is set to officially open at 83-11 37th Ave. on Dec. 8, and has been operating with soft opening hours in recent days.
The shop is run by Andres Cielo, a Jackson Heights resident and first-time business owner with over a decade of experience working in barber shops.
Cielo has secured a five year lease, and said he looks forward to owning a business in the area.
“When you first open, for any business, it’s not easy,” Cielo said. “I want my business to grow, to open more barber shops. There are a lot of people around here, so I wanted to give it a try.”
Among the barber shops Cielo previously worked for is Headz Ain’t Ready, just a little over a block away on 37th Avenue.
Andy’s Styles offers all barber services including shape-ups, haircuts, washes, shaves, and more. Hours of operation, which are currently in effect, are Monday through Sunday 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
“Anyone that comes in here, ladies, children, men, everybody—I want to try to have them leaving feeling happy,” Cielo said. “That is my dream.”
