Detectives need the public’s help in finding the perpetrator who swiped cash from a Jamaica gas station on the second-to-last day of 2018.
Law enforcement sources said the robbery occurred at 7:50 p.m. on Dec. 30, 2018 inside the Shell gas station located at 187-41 Hillside Ave.
According to police, the unidentified perpetrator walked into the service station and displayed a firearm while demanding cash. A 59-year-old male employee subsequently opened the cash drawer, allowing the suspect to grab an unknown quantity of currency.
Cash in hand, the bandit then fled the station on foot heading southbound on 188th Street, police reported.
Officers from the 107th Precinct responded to the incident; no injuries were reported.
On Jan. 1, the precinct tweeted out images of the unidentified bandit, who is shown wearing a black winter coat and mask while carrying a silver handgun.
