4-Story ‘Luxury Condo’ Building Planned on 47th Avenue in Hunters Point

Rendering for upcoming project at 10-32 47th Ave. (Stat Architecture)

Months after filing to demolish a small commercial building on 47th Avenue, a developer has at last put forth plans for a four-story “luxury condo” building on site.

Department of Building filings submitted last week call for a 12-unit development at 10-32 47th Ave., where an unassuming two-story building and a small parking lot had been located for decades.

The building on site had been home to the offices of Commercial Electrical Contractors, Inc., which still owns the property and filed for the new building.

The project would span more than 14,700 square feet, and includes features like an exercise room and a private roof terrace for the tenants in the two fourth-floor condos. Units range from one to three bedrooms, and are between 600 and 1,100 square feet.

A rendering for the development designed by Stat Architecture shows a sleek building with red and black paneling on the facade. While some small changes were made to the materials, the building’s concept is largely the same as what is depicted in the rendering, according to Suzanna Tharian, an architect with the firm.

The project appears to have been in the works for some time, with prior plans aiming for a 2020 completion year for the building.

Stat Architect, however, says construction is expected to begin this summer. Demolition, which the developer filed for back in November, has also not started, but will do so “any time now,” the firm said.
