The police are searching for a man who allegedly bit off a portion of a security guard’s finger after he was denied entry into a Jackson Heights bar last month.
The security guard, 37, was closing down El California Sports Bar, located at 76-03 Roosevelt Ave., on Feb. 16 when the suspect approached and asked to go into the bar around 4:05 a.m.
Police say when the guard told the individual that the bar was closed the suspect became enraged and began to argue..
The argument turned physical when the unidentified man bit off part of the guard’s left pinky finger. The suspect then ran eastward on Roosevelt Avenue.
EMS transported the security guard to Bellevue Hospital where his finger was reattached before he was sent home.
The alleged attacker is described by police as white or Hispanic, medium build, with dark close cut hair and a goatee. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, black boots and a black jacket with Japanese iconography inscribed throughout.
