Police are searching for a man who forced two teenagers out of the 74 Street-Roosevelt Avenue station at knifepoint on Monday and then robbed them nearby.
The suspect approached the teenage boys (a 15-year-old and a 17-year-old) in the mezzanine area of the station around 11:36 a.m. and asked them to follow him out on to the street.
Police say the teens initially refused but the suspect exposed a knife and forced them to follow him to 41-05 74 Street. The suspect then forced the teens to hand over their cell phones and $20 total in cash.
The suspect then fled in an unknown direction on foot.
Police describe the suspect as black, between 20 to 25 years old, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, and weighing about 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue du-rag, a white tank top, blue sweatpants, white sneakers, and he had a dark colored shirt slung over his shoulder.
Anyone with information in regards to these incidents is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
