Yoga at Hunters Point South Park (HPPC)

What activities would you like to see take place at Long Island City’s waterfront parks in 2020?
The Hunters Point Parks Conservancy is seeking feedback and is asking the public to fill out an online survey. The survey asks participants what events they would like to take place at the waterfront parks and how existing ones can be improved.
The survey asks respondents to rate past events held in Hunters Point South Park, such as yoga, silent disco, movies, concerts and stargazing, from poor to excellent and what their favorite event was and why.
It also asks what events the park has not held before that residents would like to see happen, as well as movie suggestions for park screenings and how community members use the park in general.
The HPPC is collecting survey answers through the end of the month.
It’s the third year the organization has asked for public input through the survey.
Last year, survey participants recommended more than 150 movies– including family-friendly films, comedies, new releases and children’s animations. Popular suggestions for new events last year included environmental education activities and larger concerts, which the conservancy has already begun to build into its programming.
According to the survey, the most popular events in 2018 were the CinemaLIC movie series, Summer Kids at the Landing, yoga classes, Silent Disco and the LIC Post Waterfront 5K — all of which returned this year.
