65th Street and Roosevelt Avenue (GMaps)

A 49-year-old Woodside woman was fatally struck in the crosswalk while crossing Roosevelt Avenue Friday morning.
The victim, Choekyi Norzon of 68th Street, was hit by a 2002 Ford van at the intersection of 65th Street and Roosevelt Avenue at around 8:45 a.m., according to a NYPD spokesperson.
She was taken to Elmhurst Hospital and pronounced dead.
Police said that the driver, a 70-year-old man, was heading south on 65th street when he struck Norzon in the crosswalk while attempting to make a left turn onto Roosevelt Avenue.
The driver remained on the scene and was not arrested. Police determined no criminality at the time of the incident, according to the spokesperson.
The investigation is ongoing.
