Police Collar Suspect Who Allegedly Slashed Robbery Victim on Christmas Eve

Police nabbed the suspect who allegedly slashed and robbed a 53-year-old man in Jackson Heights on Christmas Eve.

Yesterday the NYPD arrested 35-year-old Johnson Kamar of Mount Vernon, NY and charged him with attempted murder, robbery and criminal possession of a weapon.

Kamar allegedly pushed the victim into the vestibule of his building near Benham Street and Roosevelt Avenue, as he was entering his home around 7:45 a.m. on Dec. 24, 2019. He then slashed him across the face multiple times before taking his cellphone and wallet, police said.

Kamar fled the scene with $900 worth of property, while the victim was taken to NYC Health & Hospitals/ Elmhurst in stable condition, police said.
