Police from the 102nd Precinct in Richmond Hill and Transit District 20 are searching for a man who shoved a woman down a staircase in the Jamaica-Van Wyck E/F subway station earlier this month.
It was around 5 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 14, when the suspect approached the 31-year-old victim and pushed her from behind, sending her stumbling headfirst down the stairs, police said.
The woman suffered pain to the right side of her body.
The assailant followed her to the mezzanine area of the station and then jumped the turnstile into the subway system, according to the NYPD.
The suspect is described as a man, 25 to 40 years old, last seen wearing a dark-colored baseball cap, a yellow jacket and dark-colored pants.
No arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing.
