A reputed gang member was busted in the fatal shooting of a Far Rockaway man in May 2020, according to the NYPD.

Freddie Lawson, 27, of Beach Channel Drive was arrested just after midnight on Wednesday, Sept. 29 within the confines of the 101st Precinct in Far Rockaway and charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon in the shooting death of 24-year-old Alexander Wilkerson of Shore Front Parkway, police said.

Lawson is an alleged member of the Wild Meda gang and on the early morning of May 18, 2020, he allegedly opened fire on the victim, who was friends with members of a rival gang known as the Edgemere SOS Bloods, police said.
