NYPD pulls body from East River off coast of Astoria Park

The NYPD pulled the body of a man from the East River adjacent to Astoria Park Saturday afternoon.

Police from the 114th Precinct in Astoria, responding to a 911 call just after 3 p.m. on Oct. 2, observed the adult man unconscious and unresponsive.

EMS responded to the scene at Shore Boulevard and Ditmars Boulevard near the base of the Hell Gate Bridge, and pronounced the unidentified man dead.

The Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
