An Italian pasticciera and caffe recently opened its doors on the ground floor of a luxury, waterfront apartment building in Long Island City.

Real estate development company TF Cornerstone announced that its development at 5241 Center Blvd. is the home to new eatery, Santa Chiara, which will serve up coffee, Italian pastries and gelato to hungry residents.

“We remain committed to supporting our residents and neighbors by bringing in high-quality retail and amenities to the community through partnerships with retailers such as Santa Chiara. This opening signifies the latest milestone in our prolonged investment in the Long Island City waterfront, and it’s an honor to continue our involvement in the neighborhood’s continued expansion and rejuvenation,” said Zoe Elghanayan, principal and senior vice president at TF Cornerstone.

According to TF Cornerstone, Santa Chiara will take up 854 square feet in the Hunters Point South development and will overlook the new park between 5241 and 5203 Center Blvd.

Prior to the eatery’s opening, it hosted a Panettone Festival for the public last holiday season for attendees to enjoy some tasty pastries.

“Long Island City was the first neighborhood where I lived when I moved from Italy, and it was love at first sight,” said Cristiano Rossi, founder and owner of Santa Chiara. “I began looking for a business location over 10 years ago, and thanks to the support and generosity of the whole TFC team, my dream of opening an authentic Italian pasticceria/caffe on the waterfront has finally come true. Our outdoor space is stunning, complemented by unobstructed views of Manhattan. Good coffee, gelato and pastries with a breathtaking view — what more could you ask for? This is La Dolce Vita in Long Island City.”
