A St. Albans man died Dec. 11, more than two weeks after he crashed his SUV in South Ozone Park near JFK Airport during Thanksgiving weekend.

Officers from the 113th Precinct in Jamaica responded to a 911 call regarding a motor vehicle collision near the intersection of South Conduit Avenue and 150th Street on the morning of Saturday, Nov. 26, where they found the wreckage of a 2021 Nissan Rogue by the side of the roadway.

The driver was later identified as Jacob Ojo Oluwafemi, 33, of 180th Street. EMS transported the victim to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries on Dec. 11, police said.

A preliminary investigation determined that Oluwafemi was traveling east on South Conduit Avenue when he lost control of the SUV and crashed into a tree.

The investigation by the NYPD Highway Collision Investigation Squad is ongoing.
