Police from the 104th Precinct in Ridgewood recovered two loaded handguns and a ghost gun during three separate incidents last weekend.
On Sunday, Feb. 19, officers from the first platoon on the midnight shift were on patrol near Knollwood Park Cemetery when they observed four men removing license plates from vehicles near 79th Avenue and St. Felix Avenue. During the arrest, officers recovered a loaded handgun with four rounds in the magazine, police said.
Earlier, officers from the 104th’s Public Safety and Field Intelligence Teams were investigating a domestic dispute when they found a loaded handgun while arresting the man, according to authorities.
On the night of Saturday, Feb. 18, officers from the 104th’s Public Safety & Field Intelligence Teams arrested two individuals during a traffic stop on Cooper Avenue. One of the men was found to be in possession of a loaded ghost gun which was seized, police said.

Ghost guns have no serial number and are untraceable firearms that can be bought online and are easily assembled. They are often sold online through “ghost gun kits,” which include all of the parts and often the equipment necessary to build these weapons at home. These kits are widely available and can be purchased by anyone, including prohibited purchasers, domestic abusers, and gun traffickers, without a background check.
