A straphanger was attacked and robbed inside the Elmhurst Avenue subway station on Wednesday night and police from the 110th Precinct in Elmhurst and Transit District 20 are looking for his assailant.
The 26-year-old victim was using a MetroCard machine just after 8 p.m. inside the station, located at the intersection of 45th Avenue and Broadway when he was approached by a man who grabbed hold of his wallet and elbowed him in the shoulder.
The suspect then fled the station in an unknown direction. The victim refused medical attention at the scene, police said. The contents of the wallet have not been determined.
The NYPD released surveillance photos of the suspect on Thursday and described him as having a dark complexion in his 20s. He was last seen wearing a gray hoodie with distinctive black markings, dark shorts and white sneakers.
