An Uber driver was beaten and robbed in mid-June by a group of men who got into his vehicle in Rochdale Village.
Police from the 105th Precinct in Queens Village are looking for four men who hailed the ride in the vicinity of 137-03 168th St. at 2:30 a.m. on Friday, June 16.
At one point along the ride, the suspects began punching the 51-year-old man and removed his property before getting out of the car and running off southbound on 233rd Street in Springfield Gardens. The Uber driver was treated by EMS at the scene for minor injuries, police said.
The NYPD released surveillance images of the four assailants and described them as having dark complexions in their 20s. One wore a dark hoodie, dark shorts and white sneakers. The second suspect has distinctive sideburns and was wearing a white T-shirt with a blue design. A third suspect wore a gray hooded sweatshirt but the photo was too dark to see what the fourth suspect was wearing during the robbery.
A reward of up to $3,500 is being offered for information that leads to their arrests. Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
